Winter 2017-2018 Bucket List


FINALLY. It’s finally. Freakin’. Here. The winter 2017-2018 bucket list!

I realize I’m about 2 months late to post this. It probably should have gone up at the beginning of December if we’re being real. But I promise I had the list written in my mind all along! It just didn’t make it’s way over to the blog until now.

Oopsies. Well, better late than never, amirite? Besides, I only posted New Years resolution ideas last week, so clearly the demographic that enjoys this blog has to be those people who are procrastinators just like me.

The point is, I’ve known what I wanted on my winter bucket list this year and I’ve been crossing off items already. I just never shared them with you until today.Β 

So let’s get to it!

This season, I’m focusing a bit on outdoor sports (because I live in Colorado now, duh!). I’m also reaching for quite a few personal and professional goals that are important to me, like getting my LSW (which I already did!) and starting on my hours to get my LCSW.

I also wanted to get into a more regular workout routine this winter, which I’ve been doing successfully so far. Let’s see if I stick to that.

I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a small business this season. This is a goal that’s been on my long-term bucket list for quite some time, and to be honest, it’s a little risky to put it on my short-term list. I haven’t really thought it through fully and I’m not sure what it would look like.

But what are bucket lists for if not to push us out of our comfort zones and encourage us to take leaps we might otherwise push off until later? If not now, then when? Ya pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down?

As per usual, I’ll be revisiting a few goals of mine. I’ve been wanting to start committing one act of kindness every day for a year, but I keep putting it off. This year I began on January 1st and I’m still going strong!

I also brought back my poetry goals in a form I feel might be more manageable than some of my previous goals have been. I used to set goals where I’d have to write a poem every day for the whole season, or once a week. This time I decided I’d write every day, but only for one month. I’ve been successful at month-long goals in the past, so I’m hopeful!

Anyway, here’s the list!

Winter 2017-2-18 Bucket List (December – February)

  1. Hit those Colorado ski slopes (maybe a few times!)
  2. Take my LSW exam and pass it
  3. Visit the Denver Botanic Gardens (and catch the Blossoms of Light display they put on in December!)
  4. Get into a regular workout routine
  5. Go snow shoeing
  6. Write a poem every day for a whole month
  7. Begin my goal to do one random act of kindness every day for a whole year, beginning January 1st
  8. Start supervision towards my licensure as a LCSW
  9. Travel to new cities and states as much as possible
  10. Book an international flight
  11. Start a small business
  12. Check out the Blue Moon brewery
